My pride and joy - a Wolseley Hornet It had a 1000cc engine and was much zippier than the old 850 cc mini. I changed it for a Vauxhall 101
Ian Barton and me in Cannon Hill - he moved away and was in South Africa for a while
On holiday at Hayling Island off Portsmouth - pictured are Roy Cross, Angela Moore, Maureen Thompson (my wife) and Terry Thompson. Roy and Angela, (Maureen's brother sister) were adopted, hence the different surnames.

Interior of our first home at Cannon Hill, Omagh - we were happy enough with a second hand table and chairs (the latter which I covered with formica) in the dining room, a string picture which I made myself on the lounge wall, a vinyl covered suite (useful as it turned out with sick children), a lamp standard, the black and white television and coffee table, which I still have in a back room. The area was hard to heat and we later put a heavy curtain across the opening. We have the minimal look now by choice, but in the 1970s there wasn't much else. No colour TV, computer or mobile phone but I did get a sterio-gram later.
This one is a classic. We used to visit Maureen's aunt Noel Thompson at Brunt Terrace in Trillick and she had her weekly visitor making her ceilidh, and they were discussing the quality of the spuds in the bag. I'll have to call her "Maggie" because I can't recollect her name. We were getting married and she heard about it and asked Noel to get something out of a catalogue to give to us for a present, and she fished out a couple of pound notes from her stockings - you can see them at the top of her leg.
Maureen on that black vinyl sofa - we improved the house by changing the heating system with oil fired central heating, the electric convectors were expensive to run and they dried out the air. There was a lot of dust with the installation as the concrete floors had to be dug up to insert the pipework.

Our front lawn at Cannon Hill - me with Stephen and nephew Mark - there was a steep set of steps up to the front door which we had to grapple with when we had the pram
Me doing a bit of ironing, I was putting the prints into our wedding album, but I'm afraid that I haven't done much since. I got a friend to take the pictures and made sure he was well fed at the reception for payment. Pictured at my parent's house which also was in Cannon Hill. There's an old Ferranti valve radio in the background which has the broadcast stations names, which I kept. I haven't fired it up in years. That picture on the wall is one that I did at Art class in school, but I would admit that it wasn't all that good.Maureen with the children and my mother in the back garden
Stephen, Philip and Karen - now they have children of their own
