MyLVAD

Artifact II: Content provider and editor of specialty section for myLVAD.com

MyLVAD.com is a website that provides an abundance of resources and support for those with an LVAD, their caregivers, as well as medical providers working with the LVAD population. Being able to provide helpful information through the lens of occupational therapy supports my goal of educating others in order to support growth as a leader in the field.

Reaching the LVAD Community

Being a content provider and editor for the not-for-profit myLVAD makes it possible for me to take the occupational therapy lens I apply to every day activities and use it to assist those who need it on a large scale platform. From dressing, to home management, through navigating life in an entirely new way, and managing the psychological and emotional changes brought on by having an LVAD, the contributions that I am in the process of publishing will provide strategies and solutions for living everyday life with an LVAD. While the contributions I've made to myLVAD have not yet been published to the public website, there is work currently going on in the background in prep for publishing the content. My hope is to continue bringing content to the website and eventually partner with additional disciplines and expand into an entire program developed through the not-for-profit, and implemented into hospital systems across the country in which this information is provided for patients and their caregivers from the beginning, as a resource to utilize throughout their experience with an LVAD.

LVAD Clothing

Through the partnership with myLVAD I have also been able to find a platform to eventually share my LVAD clothing line. This will allow me to reach the intended market and meet their needs on a large scale.
