Police officers as a means of protection have since its inception always been corrupt and serving private interests rather than those of the community or, more blatantly, people of color.
The hat is what I often see as a crown of the unjust system that is constantly paraded as a protector, but more often than not is an abuser. And with that crown, so much spilled blood is constantly mopped away.
However that blood is soaked in too deep for anything to wash off.
