MY VISION

" My hope is that in growing my platform as an artist, that I can make positive impacts on the street community of my hometown. Fund raising events, Youth workshops and Creative Arts Therapy programs geared for people in recovery are some of my big dreams. "

UNITY THROUGH EXPRESSION

Music and Expressive Arts have saved my life countless times. From the streets to the high rises, I seek to share that medicine with the world. To Unify people and invite them back into the depths of their soul through the frequencies that guide me.

As well as being a locally known performing artist, I am also a creative arts facilitator and events curator. I seek to blend my modalities and skills as a trauma survivor and recovering addict to create Spaces for those who have struggled in similar ways.

My history of performance can be traced to my days on the streets of Vancouver. I am lucky enough not to have spent too much time in the Downtown Eastside, but I stayed long enough to grow strong roots and connections and learn lessons that I will not soon to forget. Being on the street taught me a lot about human psychology around classism and the walls of stigmatism and judgment that stand between us all as humans. To sit on a sidewalk, offering music as a means to ask for spare change is an absolutely humbling experience.

I have had a range of core memories, from getting into altercations with aggressive people to touching the hearts of those who do not often experience being seen. I fell in love with the streets and the people who roam them.

I am one of the lucky ones who made it out, thanks to my son, Luka who's soul came to bless my life with yet more lessons and challenges to grow through. I have lost many friends already and face the glaring reality that many more will inevitably be grieved. It is no easy way to live but some of the strongest, most open-minded and authentically loving people I know are wearing rags and living in SROs downtown.

My hope is that in growing my platform as an artist, that I can make positive impacts on the street community of my hometown. Fund raising events, Youth workshops and Creative Arts Therapy programs geared for people in recovery are some of my big dreams.

I also pray and hope that I can be a connecter between worlds. I have friends in low and high places all over the city that see one another through jaded lenses. My whole life, I have experienced resonating with many people who do not resonate or cannot see one another as equals. I hope that the love that people feel for me as an artist can be translated to the world around them and that I can help to teach compassion and open up spaces where people can see how we are not all so different after all.

In Summary, I hope that my music can help the world to see itself as I do. Infinitely full of beauty, love, pain, fear and every emotion underneath the sun. Not to be rejected but rather to be embraced.
