why nursing?
why nursing?
I chose to go into nursing because I’ve always felt called to care for others, especially during their most vulnerable moments. This calling grew stronger after the passing of my father, a life-changing experience that opened my eyes to the importance of compassion, presence, and support in times of pain. I’ve also had personal experience working with an older woman and assisting her at home. I learned the value of patience, empathy, and dignity when caring for the elderly. On top of that, I’ve worked with children through programs like YKids at the YMCA, which showed me how much I enjoy helping others grow and feel safe. Nursing is a path that allows me to give back to my community while living out my vocation through my faith. I would not have been able to come to this decision without the overwhelming support from my family. They have always been there, and I want to give back to them by being successful in a career I love.
