high school
I attended Summit Shasta High School in Daly City, CA. It is a public charter high school part of the Summit Public Schools network. It offers a college-preparatory curriculum focused on personalized learning, project-based instruction, and mentorship. The school emphasizes student voice, real-world skills, and preparing all students for success in college and beyond.
my mark
I was actively involved in student life and leadership. I served as a class representative in ASB for two years, where I supported major school events such as rallies, fundraisers, and prom. In my senior year, I also led the Filipino Club, taking charge of organizing performances, running meetings, and planning club bonding activities. As a senior class representative, I helped coordinate key “seniortivities” including Senior Sunrise, Senior Sunset, and Senior Prank Day, helping to create memorable experiences for my graduating class
At Summit Shasta, I was a pre-algebra TA in my junior year. I was also an AP English Composition TA in my senior year. As a TA, it gave me the privilege to see what it's like to help others learn and support a classroom. Instead of just being a student, I got to take on more responsibility, stay organized, and communicate better with both teachers and classmates. It was a valuable experience that taught me new skills I can use in school, work, and everyday life.
Apart from the academic aspect, I was a part of the JV Girls Volleyball team in my sophomore year. I was also the team manager for the boys' varsity basketball team for three years. With this role, I learned a lot about responsibility and leadership. I had to stay organized, manage equipment, keep track of schedules, and ensure everything ran smoothly during practices and games. Even though I wasn’t on the court, I played an important role behind the scenes and learned how to support a team, stay dependable, and work well under pressure.
