The Kentucky Autism Training Center is pleased to offer a FREE two-hour training for First Responders on autism.
Autism and the First Responder is approved for two CE/Contact Hours from the KY Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) and KY Fire Commission- State Fire Rescue Training.
Following the training, participants will be able to:
Understand what autism is - including characteristics and how these characteristics are expressed among autistics
Understand how to respond to and interact with autistics across the lifespan – including communication strategies
Identify de-escalation strategies that could be utilized
Identify local, state-wide, and national resources related to autism
