In summary, I am excited to see where the future of Instructional Technology is going...the sky is the limit! I see a lot of exciting uses and growth with this in the future, but as educators we need to also be aware of those pitfalls as well.
I think in 25 years, we won't even recognize the current landscape of instructional technology. I see some major pros and cons as well to this! For example with our precious resources being limited I think we will see a lot more students going to school from home and a lot more virtual field trips. Those are some downsides in terms of less social etc...however I think the hologram and maker space game will be off the charts as well as the VR experiences so I think that will be awesome for students (learners of all ages) to experience.
I think the day is coming when schools won't have to issue out laptops as I think everyone's hand held devices or smart watches, will work and keyboards might even begin to have phased out and we are doing more instruction on virtual boards that beam out of phones or tablets.
This course has been helpful for me to view the Instructional Technology world from a broader lens, and see how encompassing this field actually is and that it crosses over into corporate environments as well.
