Awards

Every fall and spring, the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association hosts annual awards. There are two categories that students can enter their works in. The Best of Show category showcases publications for the current school year. The Best of Mississippi category showcases work from the previous year.  SNO is a program that student journalism sites use and only 10% of articles are selected for Best of SNO. Last year SNO had 15,000 articles submitted and only 1,900 selected.  In January I entered the JEA centennial contest where I wrote a profile on my multimedia advisor. My article was selected as the only superior rating in the writng catogory. I'm thankful to my advisers and the Tupelo media staff for always supporting me! The Tupelo journalism department has helped me grow in my journalism profession. I still cannot believe that I only joined journalism a short time ago. I will always be grateful for our journalism staff and publication at Tupelo High School
