Kara Graham
Journalism Portfolio
Hello! I am Kara Graham. I am the last child of four girls and I love helping my family and others around me. I joined yearbook during the spring semester of my sophomore year and transitioned into multimedia due to my love for the art of storytelling and literature. This class has allowed me to grow and learn about my future career in journalism and IMC. This class has allotted me with new friends and an opportunity to meet different people through the media. I am now senior associate editor for our publication for Tupelo High School’s print program, Wave Media. I recently joined WTHS during my spring semester of my junior year. I wish I would have joined the media sooner, but I am glad I did. I am grateful for my advisers, Shari Chumley and Katrina Berry Ivy, for helping me grow and supporting me on my journalism journey. Going to MSPA, NSPA, Headliners of Summer and other various classes have helped me be the best writer I can be. Using my many journalism resources and collaborating, I have set a new high for my journalism career. While I have learned a lot, I am never through learning and setting new goals. I am forever grateful for the opportunities my town of Tupelo and my state of Mississippi have given me. I am also grateful for the Tupelo media staff for helping me grow and continue to grow as a writer and leader. I would encourage anyone interested in media or communications to join.
