The 60's started with St. Charles winning their first county championship. The Saints were led by head coach Paul Bergeson, who won the county in the shot put in 1945 for Batavia.

1965 started a string of 4 straight titles for Larkin high school located in Elgin. The school was only 2 years old, but had some great athletes on the west side of the Fox River.
