My passion for journalism began in high school, when I created my final project around my interview with Hal Stern, the advocate who had passed a ban on plastic straws in my hometown, Delray Beach—one of the first towns in Florida to do so. I thus became a teaching assistant for the same journalism class that semester prior to attending Tulane University.
At my first internship, working in the marketing department for finanical music company Sound Royalties, I found strength in my storytelling capabilities when I saw many of my blog posts, interviews, and concert reviews published through various means. A publication I was particularly proud of was a festival review of 'AstroWorld' in Houston in MusicUniverse magazine.
Transitioning to Tulane University, I was pleased to find a welcoming community of young journalists. I joined the board of two student run papers and have contributed meaningful stories that highlight the Tulane community and greater New Orleans area.
My junior year of college, having found an emboldened voice in my writing through my work at Associated Terminals and Turn Services, I transitioned into my role as a contributing lifestyle journalist at Where Y'At Magazine. After connecting with the PR advisor for the New Orleans Pelicans through my published articles, I earned a season credential to report first hand on our local NBA team.
