When I was a child, I remember watching my cousin in the television for a collegiate cheerdance competition, and as I see her shine in the screen, my heart jumps in joy but later realizes her sacrifices to be a dancer and to be able to step on that dance floor.
That pain came back when I saw Aika Shane Samson and Kane Riley Bonecilo with a silver medal in their hands.
Maybe failure really is the chance to do something better next time, but knowing what to improve would be a greater advantage to know where to start to improve this difficiencies.
From technical problems to wrong and unaligned routines, they revealed their disappointments because of the uncontrollable hindrances that they encountered.
“We are disappointed because of the sound,” referring to the two times sound deficit that they encountered during their routine, resulting to them not being able to follow the song they danced to.
Aside from the technical problems, the competition was also announce only a week prior, which gave them a much shorter time to come up with routines and techniques to do to be able to top the other duo.
The only thing they want to say to aspiring dancers like them is to lossen up and do their best to not feel any pressure in any competition.
For me, this world is a like that one English lesson about ‘man vs. himself,’ their biggest competition in their league is theirselves and they need to know how to deal with it in order to pursue what they want to.
