What's up!
I'm Sophie! I am currently a junior studying Environmental Science with a secondary in Peace and Conflict studies here at Juniata. I found my love for our natural world from growing up on my family’s dairy farm in Perry County, Pa. I spend lots of my time outside riding horses, playing volleyball, fishing, and working. I am currently employed in a sub-contracting position in Lancaster, Pa. where I work over the weekends. I enjoy the responsibility and pressure in my job as it requires me to think quickly on my feet and problem solve.
My love for the earth has grown immensely over the years, as well as my education on how to maintain and preserve her. My favorite part about environmental science is the unknown. For as long as I live, I will never stop learning and studying new aspects that have yet to be established. There is such an empowering feeling that the things Eco house is doing now will have an impact on not only Juniata College, but the environment around us. Spreading awareness and knowledge on sustainable lifestyles in a fun, yet inspiring way is what makes Eco house so unique. I want to continue to inspire, teach, and learn about our natural world and all the parts that make her beautiful!!
Fun Fact: I take being a plant mom VERY seriously.
