JTL Bands

Welcome to the official JTL Bands Website!

Here at JTL, we have a rich history of musical excellence with our band program, and we hope that you'll be part of that history! We currently have seven ensembles, including the 6th Grade Concert Band, the 6th Grade Symphonic Band, the 7/8th Grade Concert Band, the 7/8th Grade Symphonic Band, JTL Pep Band, Jazz Lab Band, and Jazz Ensemble.

Best communities for Music education

East Stroudsburg is proud to be represented on the National Association of Music Merchants' 2026 Best Communities for Music Education list for the 13th year in a row! Thank you to administrators, teachers, students, and families for your support of our program!

2026 JTL Jazz Night

On May 28th, all JTL Jazz Band students performed at the final performance of the year. This performance included music from the 2nd half of the year, and featured two small groups, Lab Band, and the Jazz Ensemble. The evening concluded on a combined performance of a JTL favorite, Poco Loco by Carl Strommen. It was a wonderful night to celebrate our JTL Jazz Band students!

Thank you to everyone that donated food and drinks to our end of year potluck!

2026 JAzz Band NYC Field Trip

On Wednesday, March 18th, our Jazz Band students took a field trip to NYC to watch Aladdin the Musical. They also explored Bryant Park, Times Square, and ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. Thank you to all the students and chaperones for an awesome day in the city!

2026 Department Concert performance

Congratulations to the JTL combined 6th Grade Band and the combined 7th & 8th Grade Band on their performance at the Department Concert. The following selections were:

6th Grade Band

Heart of Gold by Brian Balmages
Three Minutes to Midnight by JaRod Hall

7th & 8th Grade Band

Fearless by Carol Brittin Chambers
At Fate's Door by JaRod Hall

All JTL Band students also worked with renowned composer JaRod Hall, while the 7th and 8th grade students performed a world premiere titled: At Fate's Door! This piece will be published very soon so other musicians around the world can perform this piece!
