Mr. Whitney is one of the instrumental music teachers in the J.T. Lambert Intermediate School. He teaches all sixth grade band students, beginner band students, and students in the JTL Pep Band. Since 2011, Mr. Whitney has also served as one of the elementary band directors as part of the East Stroudsburg school district, teaching mostly beginning band students at J.M. Hill Elementary School.

For the past nineteen years, Mr. Whitney has been very active within the East Stroudsburg musical community. He has served as a staff member for the Cavalier Marching Band. In addition to teaching private lessons, Mr. Whitney also has assisted with many of the musicals here in East Stroudsburg as a performer, playing in the Pit Musicals for "The Wiz (two times)," "Guys and Dolls," "Ragtime," "Seussical,", "Hairspray," "Godspell," and "In the Heights."  Mr. Whitney is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NafME) and the Pennsylvania Music Education Association (PMEA).

Mr. Whitney resides in the East Stroudsburg borough with his wife, Nicole, and their two sons, Noah and Logan.
