José Simental Rodríguez

I am an Investigador Asociado C (roughly eq. TT Assistant Professor) at the Instituto de Matemáticas  of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Broadly speaking, I am interested in Representation theory and its interactions with combinatorics and geometry. For more details see my research page. You can find my CV here (last updated: 5/5/23).

You can reach me at simental [at] im [dot] unam [dot] mx.

I am proudly in the Outlist.

From January 2021 to August 2022 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, Germany, mentored by Catharina Stroppel. From January 2018 to December 2020, I was a Krener Visiting Assistant Professor at UC Davis under the mentorship of Eugene Gorsky. In the Fall of 2017, I participated in the Junior Trimester Program on Representation theory at the Hausdorff Institute for Mathematics in Bonn.

I received my PhD in 2017 at Northeastern University under the advise of Ivan Losev. You can find my PhD thesis here.
