Important:
To start, aviation experience has nothing to do whatsoever with your ability to fly an airplane before you arrive at flight academy. The goal of the program is to produce more pilots, not accept people that already have training. Aviation experience is simply doing an introductory flight with CAP, for example. The Air Force wants to see that you have been in a small, general aviation aircraft before arriving at flight academy, just so they know that it is something that you enjoy doing and that they will not be wasting money on you. For me, aviation experience was just that, a simple, 1 hour flight in a Cessna 172 before I left for flight academy.
