Meet The Team

Stefanie Wilkinson

Stef Wilkinson has worked in Further Education for 11 years, having originally trained as a secondary science teacher. Having done an MSc in Equine Science, Stef moved to HE in FE to teach Equine Science, but very quickly moved into Teaching and Learning Development. Having worked as Advanced Practitioner, Initial Teacher Training Lecturer, Head of Teaching and Learning and most recently as Director of Teaching and Learning at a large general FE college, she is passionate about leadership, culture, innovation, teacher development, professional development, evidenced based practice and wellbeing.

Her most recent work has been working with colleges nationally on TLA and Quality Improvement, Professional Development programmes, Culture and Organisational development, including digital and learner journey visioning and innovation.

Has recently been working on national projects, including APConnect and T level and Teacher Professional Development programmes, Stef is a specialist in Teaching and Learning Improvement, supportive culture development, coaching and mentoring, technology enhanced learning and innovation. Leadership specialisms include developing high performing teams, values driven leadership and nurturing innovation and creativity.

Stef is a CollectiveED Advisory board member, runs Advanced Practitioner and Quality Manager Networks nationally, winning her a JISC Community Award, and hosts the Teaching Excellence Podcast.

Stef is also passionate about personal development and wellbeing, yoga and owns a horse called Chill.

Lou Mycroft

Lou is a nomadic educator, writer, thinker and coach and a founding Dancing Princess, having contributed to all three volumes in that FE culture-changing trilogy.

A former public health and community development worker, Lou specialises in building communities, on and offline. She is a Thinking Environment practitioner of many years standing and had the privilege of being trained by Nancy Kline.

Lou writes for both the Times Educational Supplement (FE) and the FE membership publication InTuition. She worked for many years on community regeneration and social purpose teacher education programmes at The Northern College in Yorkshire.

A CollectivED Advisory Board member, Lou hosts the Carnegie Big6 education events at Leeds Beckett University. She is finalising a PhD which re-imagines community education along activist lines. Lou is committed to co-production and to equality. She was the EduFuturists 2020 Award Winner for championing Staff Wellbeing and she has previously been one of the #Jisc50Social nominees for her work with communities - or constellations - of practice.

Lou loves a writing retreat, being by the sea and visiting her son in Edinburgh. She can usually be found running a long way very slowly, dancing or sleeping.
