Joy Card Project Volunteer

Hello!

We are so excited to get you started on the Joy Card Project! You can start making Joy Cards today!

It’s very simple. You make cheerful cards from home for senior citizens and deliver the Joy Cards to any local senior citizen facility, like senior assisted living, nursing care,  memory care etc. 

Make 1 Joy Card or 100 Joy Cards- Every card you make matters and makes a huge impact! Remember: Small gestures make a big impact in a senior’s life.  This activity is great for schools and corporate offices also. STEP 1- Register to Volunteer

Complete the google form to get started! Click here for google form to register to volunteer!

STEP 2- Make the Joy Cards

Card Guidelines: 

-Handmade Cards/any paper and any size (folded or unfolded)

-Must be NEAT , COLORFUL and CHEERFUL- 4 or more colors on each card 

-Must write your FIRST name only and “Joy Card Project”

STEP 3- Deliver the Joy Cards

(International volunteers who cannot find senior assisted care centers in your country, please email us at info@joycardproject.org for other options)

-Print the attachments (delivery cover sheet and info sheet).

-Glue the cover to a large envelope and insert info sheet printout and Joy Cards into the envelope

-Deliver to a local senior center/facility. Google search “Senior Citizen assisted living” to find one near you. You can either drop off the envelope at the front desk (usually given to the Activities Director) of the senior facility or make arrangements to hand deliver the cards to the seniors during lunch/dinner time.  

*Take photos of the cards and the delivery.

***REMEMBER TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE JOY CARDS and the senior facility so we can feature you on our website and social media.  Your photos will help us showcase the impact of the Joy Card Project campaign and encourage others to get involved.

STEP 4- Upload Photos

PHOTO UPLOAD Instructions:

2) Add a new Folder (click the blue "+" button)

3) Name your folder with your FIRST & LAST NAME and today's DATE

4) Upload your photos into your new folder  (click the blue "+" button again)

STEP 5- OPTIONAL- Earn Volunteer Service Hours - (Photos Required) 

If you need service hours verified, you must complete the Google Form link https://forms.gle/sbJkP7yaSrQbW3SP9 after you have completed the cards and the delivery.

3 Joy Cards = 1 service hour

1 delivery = 2 service hours

*Upload photo of cards and photo of the delivery through the Google Forms link above

 (one or two photos with multiple cards please- prevents full storage of my account- do not take individual photos of each card)  

You will receive a confirmation email once all information and photos have been submitted through the Google Forms link.  A service hour verification letter will be emailed to you within 2-3 days.  Any missing information/photos can delay the process, so please enter all information accurately.
