What I have learned this semester...
My name is Joy, and I am currently trying to earn my degree in Medical and Billing Coding. Starting this class, I knew it would be a challenge for me to some degree, because I am not very tecnology savvy. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning in this class. Its fun to learn new things in general, however, learning about something that is a neccessity to the time we are living in is extremely important. Technology is everywhere and used in almost everything we do now as humans. Even just going through a drive thru at a restaurant uses technology. One of the biggest things I noticed in learning more about technology is how big the divide bewteen the younger and older generations are. Especially since now that I am getting older, the generations younger than me know way more about current technology than I do. Likewise with my parents generation is with mine. This class helped me to catch up on newer technologies and how to use basic as well as more complicated functions on a computer. Some things I learned in this class have been adding a signature on my email, citing in a word document, creating my own website, learning about cybersecurity and safe practices with email safety, learning more about AI and how to use it, researching another country and how they use technology, researching about VR being an emerging technology and how it is used in an education setting, and many more things! The ePortfolio project was one of my favorite things that I learned how to do this semester. It was so fun being able to design a website all on my own and how I wanted it to look!
