Using the CCBC libraries research databases I gathered information on the city of Florence in Italy. My partner, Richard Sammy, used the same databases to gather information on Lisbon in Portugal. We then composed a group PowerPoint that compared the information that we gathered on the two locations. An interesting fact about Florence that I learned through doing this project is that racial animosity in the city grew to the point that attacks against immigrants occurred, sparking immigration debates across Italy. An interesting fact that I learned about Lisbon is that the web summit takes place in Lisbon, and this has caused Lisbon to become one of the best tech hubs in Europe.
