involvement in

the UF Community

I was an Assistant Grower with the Environmental Horticulture Club for the 2022 Poinsettia Season. As a Licensed Pesticide Applicator, I scout for pests and carry out our greenhouse IPM program. To prepare our greenhouse for the club's annual Poinsettia sale, the largest student-led one in the country, I also water the plants and lead workdays.

I also take advantage of the club's volunteer opportunities. Some opportunities I've enjoyed include working with the Alachua County Fire Rescue on a landscaping project planting trees and other plants around their building (seen above) and participating in the Great Invader Raider Rally.

DCP Ambassadors

As an official Ambassador for the College of Design, Construction and Planning, I volunteer to put on events for students and alumni of the College, like the homecoming alumni luncheon you can see in the photo to the right! We also give tours to prospective students. It's great to share what I love about my education and how DCP makes it possible.

As I see it, Path to Purpose was the intersection of the many crossroads that represent the many roles I hold: a UF student, a community member, and an agent for social change. In a cohort of twenty other community-minded undergraduate and graduate students, I got support as a community organizer. In our meetings, I got leadership training and connected with those already actively working towards solutions for the issues that we see in our community. Check out what I've done as a Community Fellow!
