Hunter Derbies are a challenging twist of the classic hunter-style shows. The same general attire, judging, and horse applies but includes more difficult and longer coursing to test the rider's ability. Derbies usually consist of two rounds:
Classic Round: A normal hunter course.
Handy Round: Only the top riders continue to the handy. The handy may include tests like trot jumps, rollbacks, inside turns, and high/low options.
Pace, flow, and movement still apply to the general judging of the Hunter Derbies.
