Giving Back to The One Who First Gave
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son … (John 3:16)”
Giving is worship. Everything we have is a gift from God. As we give back faithfully and joyfully, the world is changed. Grace and hope become a reality, the gospel is lived out, lives are touched, people are fed, bodies are healed, communities are transformed, and relationships are reconciled. When we learn to give generously, it changes us, making us more like our generous Creator.
“All that you are and all that you have is God’s gift to you. What you choose to do with those things is your gift to God.”
We give to minister in Jesus’ name. We give our time, talents, and resources through our church for many reasons, including—but not limited to—the following:
We give because God first gave to us.
We give because we love God.
We give because it is what Christians do.
We give because it is what United Methodists do.
We give to make ministry and mission happen.
We give because, together, we can do what no one individual or congregation can do separately.
Sharing your time by volunteering, participating, and being present for others.
Using the skills, abilities, and gifts God has given you to serve others.
Giving financially to support the ministries, mission, and ongoing work of our church.
