According to Joon Faii Ong, founder of GyroGear, the function of the GyroGlove is to return independence and freedom to people having trouble coping with hand tremors brought about by Parkinson’s and other neurological and physical disorders.

As mentioned on its website, the GyroGlove is engineered to help tremor patients overcome the challenges of daily living. Designed for utter simplicity, it seeks to help patients return to normalcy, doing what they usually do.

Joon Faii Ong explains that GyroGlove uses gyroscope technology. Gyroscopes are spinning discs used in cutting-edge aerospace technology but operate on the same principles as children’s toy tops. Conserving angular momentum to stay upright in any plane of motion, they can counter any input of force in any direction swiftly and proportionately. Joon Faii Ong also notes that if gyroscope technology is good enough for satellites and rockets, it will likely work for people.

The team that developed GyroGlove worked closely with patients right from the start. Each feature used in the glove goes through rigorous design, engineering, and testing processes and is only included if it provides real, notable benefit.

Joon Faii Ong is the founder and CEO of GyroGear, the company behind the GyroGlove. For more about Joon Faii Ong, GyroGear, and the GyroGlove, click here.
