Press Release for Spokane Humane Society

For this assignment, the SHS needed a press release for their (at the time) upcoming Parade of Paws fundraiser, and my team was selected to create one.

Skills:

• Used Microsoft word to create a press release that could be modified for web or print.

• Designed a press document that provided all the necessary information, but kept it in a short and easy to read format.

My team was tasked with creating a press release for the SHS’s Parade of Paws fundraiser. The document needed to outline the planned date, time and location, cost and hosted vendors for the event. They also wanted to emphasize that their fundraising goal was the highest they had ever set for parade of paws.

Situation— The SHS needed a short press release for their upcoming event

Tasks— Creating a press release with accurate information, organized in such a way that it could be posted in print and web formats.

Action—We first gathered all the relevant information, such as the event schedule, activities and vendors that would be attending. Then we organized the information in a single page document that was easy to read quickly.

Results—The result was a short press release document that provided all relevant information quickly and efficiently.
