Grant Proposal Writing for The HUB Sports Center

My team was assigned this project because the HUB Sports center was seeking grant funding. They arranged for us to create a grant proposal for them through the Service Learning program at EWU.

Skills:

• Researched relevant grants for the HUB using several online databases.

• Used Microsoft Word to create and edit a document through multiple iterations.

• Used PowerPoint to create a final presentation for the client once we finished writing the proposal.

For this assignment, my group was asked to research possible grants that would fit with the HUB's mission, and write a proposal to apply for the grant we selected. This proposal needed to explain the mission and purpose of the HUB. It also needed to go into detail about the purpose and benefits of the program that the HUB wished to fund with the money they were asking for, and explain why it fit with the organization giving the grant.

Situation— The HUB needed to apply for a grant to help fund an upcoming event.

Tasks— Researching possible grants, and creating a comprehensive and detailed proposal to apply for a grant that fit the situation.

Action—We first researched grantors that fit with the mission of the HUB sports center and were related to the event being funded. then we worked with the client to create a grant proposal that fit both the requirements of the HUB as well as the organization who's grant we were applying for.

Results—The result was a comprehensive grant proposal explaining the relevant aspects of the HUB's mission and the purpose of the program that they were seeking to fund. As far as I'm aware, it was submitted to the grantor for approval after we delivered it to our client.
