Jon has skill in managing budgets, allocating resources, and making financial decisions.
When I arrived at Westlawn Elementary there was no Music Department budget. I wasn't surprised since this was a Title 1 school and school funds usually went towards different programs and student supplies. In my tenure at the school I had to create a budget by running fund raisers, creating/selling Music Department merchandise, partner with the PTA to help co-sponsor events, and more. This allowed the music team to fund special music field trips, purchase instruments and music classroom supplies, expand the use of technology in the classroom with software purchases, and further expand the esigning and selling “Westlawn spirit wear.”
This was all on top of teaching full time. I was maintaining appropriate materials, purchasing orders, driving the sales, collecting/ depositing funds through the school, handling customer complaints and reorders, and creating advertisement in multiple languages, and ordering the supplies for each sales project! We have a great partnership with CustomInk who helped tremendously in keeping things simplified to pull everything off.
During my summers working for Camp Levine as the Site Director, I was responsible for managing the site budget. This included making orders for teacher supplies, all camp materials, building needs/work orders, and the many shifting health and safety needs of a covid-era camp. This was much easier executed working with a great Camp Director and a great Assistant Site Director, but the list of needs never ended. Whether it was glitter, guitar stands, toilet paper, or safety cones, I managed the budget and made the orders with the admin team.
