The core goal of this project was to work professionally as a team to create something we could be proud of putting on Steam as a demo showcasing our skills in ambitious gameplay, worldbuilding and atmosphere.
Inspired by bullet hells mixed with adventure games we wanted to create a core loop in which projectile use and resource generation influenced the environment. Originally the game had 3 projectile types named; Needle, Pincer and Boulder. These were the foundation for how the player interact with the world.
To use them, the player must spend mana which is obtained by draining the nearby environment. So to succeed the player needs to carefully move around and manage the environment.
For the demo we focused primarily on a single ability and the goal of saving as many small innocent creatures as possible.
Before making the final levels in the game we planned out the structure as a paper prototype first
