Once a Hawkeye, always a Hawkeye! Yes, I am one of those rare Minnesotans who chooses to move to Iowa and then stayed there for 9 years! I loved the time I spent studying biology (B.S. 1995) and genetics (Ph.D., 2000) at the University of Iowa in the quintessential college town of Iowa City. After graduate school I was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota for 3 years.

When I'm not geeking out about science you might find me cooking, gardening, walking, biking, doing yoga, puzzling or thrifting - all while listening to an audiobook! See what I'm reading on my Pinterest board! https://pin.it/kIHWormYK

For much of my career I taught at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. I am grateful for the opportunities I had there to teach, conduct research and serve in higher education.
