Assistant Professor
Department of Biology
University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota
Welcome! I am glad you are here, and I hope you enjoy this site, where I attempt to share my enthusiasm for all things microbial. I am a broadly trained bacterial geneticist and I have been a professor of biology for over two decades. Throughout my career, I have incorporated authentic research experiences into all my courses and have had an active undergraduate research lab. My current research interests center around antibiotic discovery, and I am a collaborator in the Tiny Earth Network of students and instructors seeking to advance the antibiotic discovery pipeline, conserve our precious soil and train the next generation of talented and diverse scientists.
