One of the most popular sites in the entire North America is the majestic Grand Canyon. Often part of lists on the world’s greatest natural wonders, this particular American national park is visited by millions of nature lovers every year.
If this is part of your itinerary for this year, here are some tips shared by experienced hikers.
South Rim booking
Take the time to reserve a room near the South Rim of the park. This may be quite a challenge because of the popularity of this spot, and because staying here lets visitors rest up for a night before exploring the following morning.
No to Tusayan
Tusayan is an infamous town at the outskirts of the South Rim, infamous because of all the overpriced food establishments that serve mediocre meals at best. However, just beyond Tusayan, there are more affordable food establishments with more edible meals.
Bright Angel Trail
There are two trails many new hikers decide on – the South Kaibab Trail and the Bright Angel Trail. South Kaibab has less people and shorter. However, if you get stuck and need to be rescued, you might lose up to $10,000. Bright Angel on the other hand, may be longer, but if you need help, there are more options, which won’t cost you and arm and a leg.
