Counseling Program Structure

Classroom Counseling

The content of these lessons is selected based on the social-emotional needs of the school, Leader in Me (our school wide leadership program) standards, and North Carolina Guidance Essential Standards (counseling standards determined by the state). These lessons include content about self-regulation, peer relationships, problem solving, personal strengths, goal-setting, college/career planning, and many more!

Group Counseling

Students can be referred to receive support in the form of group counseling. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with peers in a small group (5-6 students) while developing skills they need to be successful. These skills include relationship building, self-regulation, coping skills, goal setting, self-confidence, self-advocacy, and study/organization skills.

Individual Counseling

Students can also be referred to receive support in the form of individual counseling. This is an opportunity for the student to have focused time with the counselor to learn about and practice the skills they need to be successful in and beyond school.
