Jeff Breault analyzes Davis trade rumors

Anthony Davis has asked the New Orleans Pelicans for a trade. With a decision needing to reach its conclusion soon, experts like noted NBA observer Jeff Breault start to break down which team is likely to get the superstar.

According to reports, while Davis has asked for the trade, the New Orleans team is keen to keep the star at least for the rest of the season, since Davis has proven to be one of the key starters for their plays. However, the management seems to also be preparing should a deal push through, with the noncommittal comments from head Alvin Gentry. Davis was also removed from the Pelicans’ introduction video.

Head Coach Gentry is not the only one remaining mum on the issue. In another peculiar move, general manager Dell Demps is taking a straight-on approach– he isn’t picking up the phone to confirm nor dispel the rumors.

Jeff Breault and other noted enthusiasts also agree that should a trade be finalized, top-performing organizations are already lining up with their offers, ready to sign the superstar. To date, it is already rumored that the LA Lakers and the New York Knicks are expressing interest in a deal.

In addition, the Brooklyn Nets is also confident that Davis will pick them, as the team is currently one of the strong contenders this season, placing sixth in the Eastern Conference to date, with a 28-24 run.

Other teams that may be expressing interest in the #23 Pelicans include the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and the Philadelphia 76ers, among others.

Should the trade not push through, Davis will become a free agent by next year.
