Pankui kyōsō in Japanese. In this quirky and fun event, participants run toward hanging buns (usually sweet rolls or anpan) that are suspended from a string or rope — often tied to a horizontal pole. The catch? They have to grab the bun using only their mouth — no hands allowed!
Once they successfully bite off the bun, they race to the finish line with it.
🍩 Each bun is individually tied and dangles in the air, often swinging as participants try to bite them.
🙅♂️ No hands allowed — only the mouth can be used to grab the bread.
😂 It's often hilarious to watch — buns swing away, competitors stumble, and laughter erupts!
