🌸Japan Day 2025 Volunteer
Thank you for your support!
What a wonderful and successful day!
Our 18th annual Japan Day was a joyful celebration of community, culture, and the spirit of spring—made possible by each and every one of you. With 500–600 visitors throughout the day, this year’s theme, “Hanami – Flower Viewing,” blossomed in every corner of the Library Quad.
From the hundreds of handmade paper flowers to the lively performances and engaging activity tables, the entire event reflected your creativity, dedication, and teamwork.
🌸 To the Leadership Team – Your months of preparation, thoughtful planning, and tireless coordination were the foundation of this success. From designing activities and managing communication to solving last-minute issues and supporting your peers, your leadership shone in every detail.
Special thanks to those who led behind the scenes—organizing volunteer sign-ups, managing materials, planning logistics, and keeping everyone motivated throughout the year. You led with heart, responsibility, and resilience, and it truly showed. Thank you for setting such a strong example of what student leadership can be!
🌸 To Table Leads – We had more than 30 cultural tables—each one brought incredible richness to the event. Thank you for curating meaningful and interactive experiences. The paper flower table was a perfect expression of this year’s theme.
🌸 To Day-of Volunteers – You stepped up with energy and flexibility, ensuring everything ran smoothly from setup to closing. You were the glue that held it all together!
🌸 To Performers – From Soran Bushi, kendo, judo, jujutsu, and samurai demonstrations to kamishibai, rakugo storytelling, singing, bun-eating, and more—you brought the stage to life and inspired the audience. Thank you!
🌸 To our incredible community presenters – Thank you to Koyasan Temple, Koyasan Spirit of Children Taiko, our Sister City Matsuyama delegation, Wakamatsu Farm, and so many others for your enthusiastic participation and support.
🌸 To all the Japanese language teachers – from high schools, colleges, Hoshūko Japanese Saturday School, and Sakura Gakuen—you brought over 100 children and students who represent the future of cultural exchange and understanding between Japan and the U.S. Your presence deeply enriched the event.
🌸 To Japan Club Alumni – It was truly heartwarming to see so many of you return as table leads, performers, and behind-the-scenes supporters. Thank you for also bringing your family members! Your presence reminds us that Japan Day is more than an event—it’s a lasting community.
📸 We’ll be sharing photos and highlights —thanks to our fantastic Japan Day historians!
