Lavanya Dewan

Lavanya is a consultant, MBA graduate, chartered accountant, and former entrepreneur, with over 6 years of experience in the professional services industry.

Lavanya began her career during her undergrad (in business), as an intern at Goldman Sachs, where she developed an understanding of the banking industry and the nuances of corporate culture. Further, while studying to be a chartered accountant (among India’s toughest professional qualifications to attain), she worked as an Articled Assistant at Manohar Chowdhry & Associates, one of India’s leading mid-sized accounting and advisory firms. This gave her an opportunity to develop her analytical skills while deriving insights from complex data and laws, and learn to build meaningful relationships with clients and senior leaders. Equipped with these experiences, she joined Murugesh & Co, a leading mid-size accounting and advisory firm in India, and quickly grew into an intrapreneur – with her role ranging from leading teams and managing relationships with Fortune India 500s, to identifying growth opportunities for the firm. Inspired by her entrepreneurial family and the booming start-up environment in Bangalore, she founded an accounting and advisory firm for start-ups. This gave her the opportunity to build a firm, lead client relationships, and bring together experienced professionals to advise early-stage start-ups.

Lavanya’s quest to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving and hone her leadership skills led to her next step - An MBA at the Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania). She double majored in Business Analytics and Operations (Director’s List, Spring 2020), served on the board of student clubs (including Adam Grant’s “Authors @ Wharton”), and was a teaching assistant.

During business school, Lavanya interned at Kearney, a global management consulting firm which works with three-quarters of the global Fortune 500s, as well as influential governmental and non-profit organizations. At present, Lavanya is an Associate at Kearney’s San Francisco office. She collaborates with talented colleagues and clients to solve the most pressing business challenges across industries and functions.
