Welcome to JA STEM Week!

March 8-11, 2022

Junior Achievement (JA) is excited to share both JA S.H.E. LEADS STEM Summit and JA Tech & Innovation Summit in an extended format that includes flexible mentoring interactions, and recorded content for a full week of STEM career exploration! Students learn from many STEM employees about their jobs, their education, and how their interests drove them into their field. Learn what makes their jobs enjoyable and why they would recommend it for the next generation of STEM leaders.

Throughout the Week

STEM Career Mentoring Sessions - Hybrid

9th-12th grade

This event will be a combination of the JA S.H.E. Leads STEM Summit and the JA Tech & Innovation Summit. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring session with employees (mentors) from STEM-related companies throughout the country. Hear first-hand about their jobs, and the educational path that brought them there.

JA S.H.E. Leads STEM Summit - Hybrid (Open to all students)

7th - 12th grade

In honor of International Women's Day, and with the theme of Women in Leadership, we are hosting JA's incredible S.H.E. Leads STEM Summit, which focuses on connecting middle and high school students to professional women working in STEM careers. Offering STEM career exploration by engaging in fun, virtual workshops, and discussions with STEM career professionals.

9 am to 10 am - Keynote Speaker, Opening Remarks, and Panelists

At a class time of your choosing have an in-person or virtual STEM workshop presented by corporate volunteer/partners for your entire classroom of students.

JA Tech & Innovation Summit - Hybrid

7th-12th grade

Middle and high school students are exposed to career paths and insights from the region's leading professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Through workshops, career-driven discussions, and a gallery of innovative projects, students will prepare to launch into the future workforce.

At a class time of your choosing have an in-person or virtual STEM workshop presented by corporate volunteer/partners for your entire classroom of students.

4 pm - 5 pm- Closing Speaker, Closing Remarks, and Panelists

STEM Virtual Career Exploration

7th-12th grade

View pre-recorded STEM webinars, workshops and career speakers will be available to middle and high school students from employers such as AT&T, Genentech, John Muir Health, Tesla, and more! The curriculum is available to help support and strengthen the student experience

Each student or classroom can pick and choose which sessions they are interested in attending.
