JA Inspire Virtual Career Exploration Fair:
Opening Doors to the Jobs of Tomorrow in Northern California
JA Inspire Virtual represents a new career awareness and development program that JA of Northern California will launch in October 2022-23 academic year. This program brings together the business community with schools across the region using virtual technology where students can explore and interact with dozens of exhibitor booths, participate in webinars and presentations, and download career information and video content that will help inform and guide them as they begin to think about the career options that will be available to them and guide them in their career choices.
Please contact Mary Diligent, mdiligent@janorcal.org for information on how you and/or your classroom can participate in JA Inspire!
Make sure your teen is ready for the real world. This article tells you why its important.
Become a Sponsor and Display your Company!
The program begins in the classroom with teacher-led or self-guided lessons to help 8th-12th graders assess their skills and interests and align those with designated career clusters. Once complete, students attend the virtual career expo, hosted by vFairs, and experience online career panel discussions and recorded sponsor exhibits, where students can interact with professionals from companies representing a variety of industries.
Companies can sponsor virtual exhibit booths where students have the opportunity to interact with professionals via chat, view company-provided content about their industry and learn more about the professional opportunities available within a company and the skills needed for those jobs. Content can be downloaded by the students as part of a "virtual backpack" that allows them to save information that interests them.
The platform will remain accessible to students for six months to allow them an opportunity to continue to explore and investigate the presenters and professions that interest them. The program is accessible in any format – computer, tablet, or mobile smartphone - and may include scavenger hunts to make the experience even more fun and increase student engagement.
Join us at JA Inspire Virtual and help us open doors to the jobs of tomorrow in Northern California!
JA seeks sponsorship to cover the cost of providing JA Inspire Virtual for students. Sponsors will fund student participation, as well as help provide videos, photos, and career information for your company. Students will be able to access JA Inspire Virtual 24/7 for a six-month period as they continue their career planning.
Each Sponsor will:
Design and set up virtual interactive exhibits representing jobs at their company
Ensure that exhibits interest and engage students— with as much “wow” factor as possible
JA and Vfairs will support companies in creating interactive exhibits that engage and support students visiting the career expo!
