Janney Math Team is a competitive team that participates in mathematic competitions over the course of the 5th grade year. Ms. Allinson is the "coach" of the Math Team. We regularly meet once a week on TUESDAYS during lunch.

MOEMS: Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools
Students will take a 5 question olympiad contest each month over the course of the year. These are given during the school day and proctored by Ms. Allinson.

Students take a 50 question contest to compete against 4th and 5th grade students across the city!
First, Second, and Third place prizes awarded! Usually held in March.

Kangaroo Math Competition
Kangaroo Math Competition
In previous years, Janney was invited to participate in Kangaroo Math competitions through other hosts. Ms. Allinson is currently searching for our host for school year 2019-2020!

DCPS MATH BOWL
Janney will participate in this 5 person team competition. 5th graders will participate in a Math Bee to determine our top 3 5th graders to attend. Dates and details to come!
