Google Sites

If you want to go to google sites, then your Gmail inbox or in google docs, google sites ect.... located at the top left hand corner of the page you should see blue links. Click on sites, you might have to click more first. This application is for making a website (Just like this one/or different), you will follow step by step instructions when you get there. You can make as many websites as you want. You also have the option to have it Public for the whole world, or Private so that the website will only be between you and the people you choose to share with. This is basically for a small business that you have, or a family website to share photo’s, calendars, events or whatever; maybe to plan club meetings and activities, share info on a secure company intranet, collaborate on a team project, or stay connected with family members. It will allow you to Create rich web pages easily, Collect all your information in one place, and Control who can view and/or edit.

To get started, after you are in “google sites” which if you followed the beginning instructions you should see a button on the right hand side that says “create site” then click that. Now you will see a variety of choices to choose from:

• Blank slide
• Classroom site template- if you are teaching a class of some sort it would be a good idea to choose this template
• Family site template- which you could host a family site and share pictures and stuff like I mentioned earlier S
• Soccer team theme- which can be easily transferred into another sport of your choice, good idea for a coach
• Browse the gallery for more- which will have unimaginable themes and choices for making your personalized site.

1. The next step is to type the name of the site into the “Name your site:” box.
2. Then it will want you to fill in where your site will be located at “this” URL. It may already have the name of your website title in the URL box, but you can either add, keep or delete the text inside the box. *The URL is the website address that will be for your website.
3. After you finish that below you will see “choose a theme” but you already did so you don’t have to worry about that unless you want to change it.
4. Underneath that will be “more options” if you click that then you will be able to type in your site description and have the option to share with either everyone in the world or only with the people you specify choose to view the site.
5. Then make it all the way down to the security code, where you type in the mixed message, then type it in the box to the right of that.
6. Finally click the create site button.
