Hello, my name is Jake Redmond and I have chosen to pursue my interest of Engineering and make it into a full time career. The field of study that I am most interested in is Aerospace Engineering. Ever since I was a little kid I always wondered how things worked such as planes and rocket ships. Another field of Engineering I am currently considering is Electrical Engineering. As a kid I was always interested in how things like wires and systems that use electricity worked. I am interested into Engineering because I want to be a innovator and improve things and make life easier for people in the future.
To achieve my goal of becoming an Aerospace Engineer, I have taken Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and I am currently taking Pre-Calculus. I have also taken a Computer Science class my 8th grade year that taught me a lot about basic coding. I am also in the second year of the Engineering program at the James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. At the Tech Center, I have learned lots of valuable information and skills such as coding, teamwork, problem solving, and constructing many different things.
Ever since I was 8, I fell in love with the sport of Lacrosse and have played it ever since. I play Lacrosse for Leonardtown High School which has taught me skills that will help me with my future of Engineering. Those skills are teamwork, leadership skills, the importance to set yourself a goal, and working hard. Lacrosse has showed me that hard pays off and it will get you to where you want to be in life. Those skills I have learned through the sport of Lacrosse will help me work well with a team and be the leader of the group. I have helped out My Dad and my older Brother with there lawn care service. Helping them out has taught me teamwork skills and also financial skills and how to manage money.
After Highschool, I plan on attending a University to study and pursue either Aerospace or Electrical Engineering. I have not decided yet if I want to go to a 2 year or a 4 year program. Until that time comes to make my decision I will continue to build on my Engineering skills.
After my goal of becoming an Engineer has been reached I will inspire people in my community to innovate and be creative. Once I become an Engineer I will try to make things that will improve people lives and society as a whole. My goal is to make lives easier for the world so we can be more efficient and accomplish more together around the world.
