We created group rules and drew a “secret friend”🙊, a person we will secretly do small kind gestures⚘️ for during the project. Later we had a coffee break and played ice-breaking games so everyone could introduce themselves and learn each other's names. After lunch we continued with activities like Human Bingo and Speed Dating. We also shared our fears 🗯and expectations and learned about the Green Deal.🌿🌿 At the end of the day we had a daily evaluation and dinner. The day finished with a Latvian cultural evening where participants from Latvia showed us their traditional customs and holidays, taught us some traditional dances, and introduced typical food and drinks. 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻
Today’s activities focused on cultural exchange and the development of the 8 key competences of Erasmus+. We had part in a cultural presentation about Latvia,🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻 where we learned about Latvian traditions, culture, and everyday life. This activity encouraged cultural understanding and helped us to share ideas while communicating in English,🇬🇧 strengthening multilingual competence. During the day, participants also worked in groups to explore the eight key competences: multilingual competence; personal, social and learning to learn📖 competence, citizenship competence, entrepreneurship competence, cultural awareness and expression, digital competence📹📹, STEM competence and literacy competence. Through discussions and teamwork, we exchanged experiences and reflected on how these competences are important in everyday life and international cooperation. Another important activity was “Steps Forward.” This activity helped us to feel stronger together and created a comfortable and confident atmosphere within the group. It included a game that showed how often people make assumptions about others without really knowing them. The activity helped us to understand that what truly matters is a person’s character and personality, not stereotypes or first impressions. Overall, today’s activities encouraged openness, cooperation, and deeper understanding between participants from different cultures. At the end of the day we had Polish🇲🇨 cultural evening with homemade food🥧🥧 and tradicional dances.
🇵🇱 The 3rd day started with a cultural presentation from Poland, where participants learned about important traditions, customs, and aspects of Polish culture. 🎭📜 🇷🇴 This was followed by the Romanian cultural presentation, which offered insights into Romania’s history, traditions, and cultural diversity. 🏛️🌍 ☕ Later, participants took part in a World Café discussion on how cultural changes can influence traditions and shape people’s cultural identities. In small groups 👥, we shared perspectives and experiences from our own countries, which encouraged open dialogue and mutual understanding. 💬🤝 🎨 In the afternoon, we worked on the preparation of posters, developing ideas and organizing the information that will be presented later in the project. ✏️ To keep the atmosphere creative and relaxed, we also had a short drawing activity, which allowed everyone to express themselves in a fun and informal way. 🎉 The day ended with a Romanian cultural evening 🇷🇴, where participants had the opportunity to experience Romanian traditions and enjoy a moment of cultural exchange together. 🕺🎶🌍
Participant made posters:
Today we started the day with a presentation from the Turkish team about their cultural heritage and some interesting facts about Turkey 🇹🇷 Later we worked on planning a dancing campaign in the city center. Our team will introduce citizens and tourists to different traditional dances from our cultures 💃 It will be a fun way to share our traditions and bring people together. Other groups prepared creative posters and interesting questionnaires where people can guess traditional outfits and answer questions about Latvia 🇱🇻 In the evening we enjoyed a fun Turkish cultural evening with music, traditions and great atmosphere ✨
We started the day in the center of Riga with a dance workshop where we invited people to join us and learn some new dance moves. It was amazing to see so many people getting involved and enjoying the moment together. Later, a youth group from Kenya joined us and shared their own dance steps, bringing even more energy and cultural exchange to the activity. 💃🌍 Meanwhile, our interview team was talking with people on the streets, asking questions about their knowledge of traditional costumes from the countries involved in our project and discussing internet culture trends in each country. It was interesting to hear different perspectives and see how much people know about other cultures. Later in the day, we took part in an orienteering game around Riga, where we had to find different locations and objects around the city. It was a fun way to explore the city while working together as a team. Another inspiring day full of learning, culture, and new connections! ✨
We started the day with two energizers: Pif Paf (where the last person with the fastest reflexes wins) and Dance Guess (where teams face off in lines to guess an original dance move). The Elephant in The Room : Stereotypes Once we were energized, we got honest. Each national team was given a paper with their country’s name, and everyone wrote down the stereotypes they’ve heard about one another. We read them out loud to confront the myths. Drumroll, please... the Cyprus Presentation! 🥳 We started with Chicken Flat, a popular game played during Cypriot festivals. After that, we dove into the facts and history about the island. Debates 👀 In the afternoon, we tackled the "big" topics: Religion, Society, Globalization, and Taboos. We used a "Positioning Scale"—if you agreed, you moved to the Right/Yes; if you disagreed, you moved to the Left/No. In the middle/Neutral. Digital Landscape We also compared the apps each country uses depending on the context: from Daily Life and Traveling to Translation and identifying Fake News. Cyprus Cultural Evening To wrap it all up, our hosts showed us the heart of their culture. We watched videos about local customs (like traditional weddings and contests), played a local game, and ended the night by learning three different Cypriot dances!
We started the morning with a creative session focused on designing characters inspired by different cultures around the world.✏️✏️✏️ The diversity of ideas led to some truly fascinating and original characters, each reflecting unique traditions, styles, and stories. Later on, we shifted into an entrepreneurial mindset and created our own innovative products, presenting them in a format similar to a “Shark Tank” 🦈🦈pitch. One standout idea was a pair of glasses capable of recording your dreams🌜—an imaginative concept that we enthusiastically tried to “sell” to our audience. After lunch, we participated in a short acting workshop where we brought legends from various countries to life. It was both fun and educational, as we explored storytelling through performance. To wrap up the day, the French team introduced us to their culture, sharing interesting insights and traditions🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵. In the evening, we enjoyed a French cultural night, where we had the chance to experience elements of what the country has to offer, as well as learn a few traditional dances and games.
The previous evening, we split into smaller groups to explore the local culture and discover different sides of Latvia. 🌍 Some participants chose to visit museums, including the Art Nouveau Museum, the Riga Fashion Museum, the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, and the KGB Museum. Each place offered a unique insight into the country’s history, art, and identity. Others spent time at the National Library of Latvia, exploring its impressive architecture and cultural significance. 📚 A few participants traveled outside the city to Kemeri, where they experienced Latvia’s beautiful nature trails and peaceful landscapes. 🌿 Meanwhile, others visited Sigulda, one of the most popular tourist destinations, known for its stunning views and rich history. In the evening, we all took some time to rest and recharge, getting ready for another exciting day ahead. ✨
On this day, we focused on creativity and storytelling by filming short movies about Erasmus+ opportunities and the stereotypes faced by the countries involved in our project. 🎬 Each team worked together to share meaningful messages, reflect on their experiences, and highlight important topics through their films. In the evening, we wrapped up the day with our very own “Oscars ceremony,” where every team presented their movie and we watched them all together. ✨🏆
Final day✨️ We started the day with a fun game of “Two Truths and a Lie,” which helped us discover even more interesting things about each other. After that, we had a “Fish Tank” activity where participants shared ideas for future projects they would love to create. Topics ranged from inclusion and encouraging young people to spend more time in nature, to many other inspiring initiatives. 🌱 Each country also presented how they plan to share the results and experiences from this project—whether through local communities, social media, or even local newspapers. Later, we wrote letters to each other, sharing kind words and memories to take home as a reminder of this experience. 💌 In the evening, we finally revealed our secret friends, who had been spreading small acts of kindness throughout the whole project. The day ended with the Youthpass certificate ceremony and small gifts, celebrating everyone’s participation and achievements. 🏅 A perfect ending to an unforgettable experience! 💙
