Opportunities for Graduate Students

We offer the PhD program in Organization Studies at the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Dr. Hideg will be happy to supervise students with interests in workplace diversity (including gender, cultural, ethnic/racial diversity and equality in the workplace, as well as diversity in teams and group work) in the workplace. If, however, you have different research interests, we urge you to check out other faculty members, as they explore a range of exciting topics.

Please note: Dr. Hideg is currently on leave from the Schulich School of Business, working at the Saïd Business School at Oxford University. We nonetheless encourage you to contact her if interested in possibly collaborating with her or discussing future supervisory opportunities.

Opportunities for Undergraduate Students

Note: We are currently not looking for research assistants, but are happy to email with those who would be interested in being contacted for future opportunities.

Research Assistantship

Research assistantships in the GEDI lab are intended to provide undergraduate students with valuable research experience within a highly enthusiastic, research-oriented, and supportive environment consisting of both business and psychology students. Research assistants (RAs) are in particular valuable for students considering graduate program or wanting an exposure to research. RAs are fully integrated lab members and work alongside Dr. Hideg and other students in a highly collaborative environment. They are exposed and trained in various aspects of research from data collection, research stimulus creation, data management and analysis, to potential writing, depending on students’ personal interests.

The main benefits of being an RA in this lab include high quality research experience in a business school lab and exposure to organizational psychology; training in all aspects of research (highly beneficially if considering applying for graduate schools); and potential reference letters.

When looking for research assistants, we seek highly enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable students! We encourage both students with business and psychology majors to join us as we believe that diversity makes us more successful and creative. We offer both volunteer and paid positions. Typically, students with no research experience would start in a volunteer position.
