The 1-8 Stacking 40L Sprint achievement in TETR.IO might seem daunting on first attempts, but this guide will help you immediately complete it. Actually.
Note: You are forced to place 10 total I pieces on either column 1 or 10 to complete this achievement. There is no skimming allowed; you must complete 10 consecutive quads on either column 2 or 9. Watch out and don't waste a single I piece!
Pro mode helps end sprints efficiently by displaying how many rows remain before the sprint run ends. It will help us immensely with our achievement. This setting can be found in the ready screen for Sprint.
An ancient loop from over a decade ago sees the light of day, becoming meta with a massive part to play.
This loop splits the stack is into 3 parts: An I column at the far right or left, and the STZ and JOL stacks on the other side. I won't go into depth on how to maintain this stack, so check out this video for a full demonstration of the loop. TL;DR: I on far side first, and always place both Ts at once next to each other.
With that, the vast majority of the run is trivial! Make sure to place I pieces on the far side first so that the quad is cleared on column 2 or 9!
Start your run like this!
The first 7 quads are easy, but our stack is getting dangerously high by now. It's time for the Big Overhang.
4 rows above the "finish line", transition from an 8-wide stack to a 9-wide stack. This space allows I pieces to slide right under and clear quads on column 2 or 9, and the wider stack allows several more pieces to fit on the board. A minimum of 133 pieces must be placed for this achievement, so every bit of space matters. Do your best to tuck everything into the top corner away from the well in case an I piece comes late!
Maximize space usage near the top!
