40 line sprint has been around for literal decades, and inventive players have created many challenges to spice up gameplay and make things interesting. Here are some of them, loosely ranked from easiest to most difficult!
The following challenges all assume modern Tetris rules, meaning 7-bag, SRS, etc.
A relatively easy challenge for newer players!
Beginners will find this an opportunity to test their abilities to save pieces and avoid I dependencies.
A step up from the previous challenge, the Eternal Exercise has been proposed as a benchmark for VS readiness. If you can clear this with ease, you're ready for multiplayer!
You can try this mode using orz's Jstris usermode or by setting a cheese layer in Zen mode to 10 height and not clearing any lines.
No, this isn't a reference to 11/11, this is 4W city. Not using 4 wide makes this challenge significantly more difficult.
This challenge has been added to TETR.IO as an achievement.
If you struggle with this one, see my guide on how to ruin it 😉
This challenge has been added to TETR.IO as an achievement.
Initially invented by yakine, 20TSD has mostly been taken over by LST, especially when going for speed.
Thanks to mechanical TSD, this achievement has been utterly cheesed.
The speed WR is held by westl as of 2024 and stands at 22.2 seconds.
The earliest record I know of was set by Vince_HD, who achieved a 28.34 in July 2022. He still holds the record today with 25.723.
Garbo, who added this challenge to TETR.IO as an achievement, has also shared his thoughts through a video.
This one is really hard to rank. Some people, like me, simply cannot handle invisible Tetris. Others, however, can play like nothing's wrong.
One way to cheese invisible sprint is to build perfect clears so that the board state is easy to remember. Indeed, some top Blitz and Ultra players can play on Invisible with ease.
As of 2024, westl currently holds the world record at 14.857 seconds. Add "?forceSkin=1" to make it visible.
A very difficult challenge to complete due to the sheer number of allspins in the game.
An efficient 40L Sprint requires 100 placed pieces. For this challenge, 40 of those pieces must be spins, and spinning every 3rd piece results in an 120 piece finish.
Go ahead, try it. Try your sanity, and prepare to find naught but pain and suffering. Stifle thy hubris, and fall—to naught but ruin.
