Managing Quarantine Emails
Defender 365 is Centre's spam filter that allows you to approve specific senders and release email messages that were blocked by the network. These settings do not overwrite the overall security and malware checks conducted by Defender 365 but supplement the mail delivery process.
There are 3 categories of email:
Threat emails – malware, imposter, credential grabbers, etc. which are always blocked
Potentially nuisance emails – Spam and bulk emails, which are stored for 30 days but not delivered to your inbox (see below)
Non-threatening emails – which are delivered immediately to your inbox
To view your quarantine email and release messages:
Enter https://spamfilter.centre.edu into a web browser.
This will take you to our single sign-on portal. Please enter your Centre credentials and log in.
You will be brought to the following screen where you can manage the emails being held.
Once you login, if you are not taken to Defender 365, clear your browser cache and try logging in again.
You will receive a daily digest automatically to your inbox of the emails that are quarantined. You will start receiving this, once you receive your first quarantine email.
4. On the left side of the page, click the review option:
Quarantine: Under the email & collaboration area, this is where bulk mail (newsletters, business articles) will be listed. You can decide whether you want to release the messages to your inbox or delete it permanently.
NOTE: Messages left in these folders will be automatically deleted after 30 days!
5. Check the box next to the message you wish to manage
6. Then click the button for the action you wish to take:
To release this one message – click “Release” (the checkmark icon)
To always allow all messages from that sender – click More < Allow Sender
View our documentation on Managing Spam Email, which allows you to block a sender and review your blocked and approved senders list.
