Abstract
This presentation focuses on the notion of “transformation” in LGBT communities in Moscow, Russia. Firstly, the personal transformation of Konstantin Lablotckii, the founder of the Russian LGBT Sport Federation, will be presented. In this section, Konstantin’s inspiring coming-out story and the connotation behind it will be shared. Secondly, the transformation that appeared in its LGBT communities will be discussed. This section mainly concentrates on the conflicts between Russian society and the LGBT community. In conclusion, the presenter will call for a time for “stop and think”—rethinking the meaning and the importance of “transformation” in gender identity.
