The interdisciplinary performance project “Intersection - The Art of Identity” is dedicated to the perception of the self, using means of sensory intelligence. Series of sequences inspire encounters with oneself as a human being, a journey and rapprochement to the other, ending with the rediscovery of networking as a group. It offers viewers a special kind of abstract, approachable experience and a meeting place where people come together and experience togetherness from different angles.Â
“Intersection - The Art of Identity” is a participatory project by dancer and choreographer Karen Bößer in collaboration with Beatrix Szörenyi, visual arts, and Isabel Eddouks Taurel, music.Â

Abdoul Madjid Issoufou (Computer Science Student) found the rehearsal process engaging, describing it as a constantly evolving performance due to the changes in people's emotions, involvement, and mindset. He appreciated the dynamic nature of the performance, seeing it as both fabulous and sad because each performance was unique and could not be repeated. He valued the rehearsal process for allowing creativity and improvisation to play a significant role in shaping the final performance.
Abdoul also mentioned the positive impact of meeting artists Karen and Beatrix, who brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the course. He noted their interest in the students' experiences in art and their openness to feedback, which helped create a supportive and engaging environment.
INTERSECTION: The Art of Identity - July 17, 9:00PM, AUI Gymnasium
How do we insert ourselves into this world? How do you perceive the other? How do you perceive yourself?
The performance "INTERSECTION: The Art of Identity" offers a silent space for intensive encounters between performers and audience. Together, spectators and performers embark on a journey of engagements, changing perspectives, and traversing a course of rapprochement and mutual discovery. The focus is as much on the individual as on the group as a whole.
Karen Bößer, choreographer and performer from Düsseldorf, and Beatrix Szörenyi, visual artist in the field of mixed media, have been exploring these and other questions in their work for years.
This performance was developed and staged together with Lecturer in the Arts, Isabel Eddouks Taurel and students of SSAH classes. We would like to thank everyone involved in this exciting project!Â
